I found Kate through a referral in August of 2022 after seemingly exhausting nearly all options short of surgery for a L5/S1 herniated disc injury. I had tried rest, chiropractic, stretching, acupuncture, and a lot of different medicines with no progress. The pain I was experiencing was severe, and not only was I unable to work out, but it also limited my ability to function in daily life. I was in constant pain, and even getting out of bed in the morning was a monumental task. As an athlete, this was incredibly difficult both physically and mentally. Although I had no interest in surgery, I was preparing myself for that reality. Just over 4 months later, I am nearly back to 100% and I could not be happier with getting back to real life, including working out, without surgery. Kate’s hands-on approach, great communication, and deep level of knowledge immediately built confidence and allowed me to trust the process to get where I am now. Working with Kate was a wonderful experience. When I first contacted her, I was pretty far in the dumps with not being able to train and limited with my hamstring to the point that I could do very little activities in general at 100% capacity.
Not only did Kate help rebuild my hamstrings through all of the weak scar tissue that had been built up, she’s also served as a mental coach through a tough season. The eye opening part of rehab is that it’s more like a stock graph than linear growth, so the mental part can be the toughest at times. Kate is great with level setting with her clients and encouragement. I am now able to run, train, play sports with no limitations and am truly able to enjoy it again! Kate will always be a go-to contact for me in the future with my pain needs! Movement is truly medicine.
